Has my definition of art changed since the beginning of this class?
This was the first drawing I did in this class. My definition of art had definitely changed from then to now. Before I mostly thought that art was just drawing things on paper, but now I realize it is much more than that. Throughout the class I learned that art can be any form of creativity, not just a drawing.
What techniques did you use that worked well?
This was one of the first big projects that I did and that I used a bunch of different techniques on. The medium that we used was charcoal and it was easy to blend. One thing that I did a lot was use tools and erasers to make parts of the piece darker or lighter, which was the best technique I had and made it look much better.
What did I find most difficult about this class?
The thing that I found most difficult was having to come up with project ideas. Half of the time I would be wasting time that we had to do our project trying to think of what to do for the project. This picture is a good example of a project that took me a really long time to think of, and it didn't turn out that great because I had to rush towards the end of it. In the future I will ask people for inspiration to make it easier to decide what I should do.
What sketchbook warm-up did you find beneficial/interesting?
I think the most beneficial warm up we did was learning how to draw an eye. I liked learning how to draw one because I never knew the detail that had to go into it could make it look so much better. Now that I know how to draw one, I will use the techniques that I was taught to make them even better.
Which project would I do over?
If I was able to do over any of the projects it would be the clay animal. I liked being able to sculpt things, but this didn't come out exactly how I would've wanted it. The face of the bunny is honestly a little bit scary and if I had the chance I would definitely do it over again. I would make sure that I would be able to easily paint and sculpt it so it would look more realistic and not as creepy.
